The Palace of Versailles has different opening hours depending on the area and season. Please consult the information below to plan your visit effectively:

The Palace

The main Palace building, including the Hall of Mirrors and Royal Apartments, follows these hours:

    • April to October: Tuesday - Sunday, 9:00 AM - 6:30 PM (Last entry 5:50 PM)
    • November to March: Tuesday - Sunday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM (Last entry 4:50 PM)

The Palace is closed:

    • Every Monday
    • 1 January (New Year's Day)
    • 1 May (Labor Day)
    • 25 December (Christmas Day)

The Trianon Estate (Grand Trianon, Petit Trianon, Marie-Antoinette's Estate)

Is Versailles open on Mondays?
The Palace and Trianon Estate are closed every Monday. However, the Gardens remain open on Mondays with free access (no Musical Fountains shows). If you visit on a Monday, you can still enjoy the vast gardens, the Grand Canal, and the exterior architecture.
When does the Trianon Estate open?
The Trianon Estate (Grand Trianon, Petit Trianon, Marie-Antoinette's Estate) opens at 12:00 PM, later than the Palace which opens at 9:00 AM. This means you can visit the Palace in the morning and head to the Trianon after lunch. Last entry is 40 minutes before closing.
Are the gardens open year-round?
Yes, the gardens are open every day of the year, including Mondays when the Palace is closed. Hours vary by season: 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM in summer (April-October) and 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM in winter (November-March). Entry to the gardens is free except on Musical Fountains/Musical Gardens days.
How early should I arrive before closing?
Last entry to the Palace is 40 minutes before closing. However, we recommend arriving at least 2 hours before closing to have a meaningful visit of the Palace. Rooms begin closing 30 minutes before the museum shuts. For a full day including the gardens, arrive at opening time (9:00 AM).
